Week 34

Hey all this week has been wonderful! So many miracles as always are here in Denmark! Weve had a lot of good expereinces with giving people books of mormons,  and hoping to help them build their faith. 
Its been great to be focusing more and more on the Book of Mormon and help others realize it's  eternal truths and principles.
 This week, our district alone gave out 43 books of mormons! 2 of the elders here handed out 15 of them in one day and they were just astounded about how much the Lord had prepared all the people they gave books to. They were just so blessed and they said that they were so grateful they were at the right time and right place to help the people along their journeys of discipleship. 
One of the Books of Mormon my companion and I gave out this week was to a woman named Rikke . She knows several mormons and we talked about who she knew and what she believed and we ended up giving her a book of mormon and she was like "oh my goodness i'll read this so we can talk about it next time!" It was so sweet! 

We also met a guy from Iceland who was at a 7 day adventist bible study, we were visiting , his name is Joel, and he knew who we were because he had been given a book of mormon in iceland and he said it was "way sweet and awesome!" He said he would preach days on Mosiah 1 and Mosiah 13 and how it was so cool! 
Come to find out, I  knew the elders in Iceland who had taught him. One of them was with  me in the mtc ,  the other was someone who was serving here in Denmark but got moved to iceland because they needed help there. Believe it or not Iceland is part of our mission. It was so sweet! 
Anywhoo, its been a wonderful week and miracles are everywhere!

Week 33

Hey all! 
This week was wonderful! I'm going to keep it short because I don't have much time today and I forgot my little piece of paper that helps me remember what things happened this week. Ahah
One thing that happened though was that we had stake conference! That was interesing for sure! And we also are giving tons of Book of Mormons away right now, so thats cool! I'm  doing awesome here and enjoying it all so much! I know how much love God has for each of you and I hope you continue to be the best you can be in life! I know he wants us to be happy!

WE are all constantly trying to do our best and make the best life for our children and family, but the best life we can have is when we have a storng relationship with God. 

Remember all the amazing blessings you have ! 
I hope you are all staying warm in the snow!!  This past week it snowed here too, its way freezing and its a weird experience when you hydroplain on ice on a bike ahah. but it works out! 
We had a "mini mission" with Zenya! She came with and was a missionary for 3 days and it was so fun! She is so great and she loved getting to help others, more fun with more of us! It was awesome! "

Week 32

Feb 6, 2017

Hey all! This week has been wonderful! I've had a busy week with zone conference and all and finding out our new mission schedules! The new mission schedule is a lot more flexible, and in my specific mission the goal is to be out of the apartment by 10am. But for our winter schedule, we have to be in by 8pm and in the summer we have to be in by 9pm but if we have a lesson I believe it can be 10 or 10 :30. SO thats crazy! We have had an interesting time trying to figure everything out! Its definitely been interesting as missionaries!

 We had a lesson with an investigator we had to transfer over to elders because he wasn't in our area, and it was way sad because he was so positive, but we know the Elders will do great! Our investigators are doing awesome right now, so that's wonderful! We're trying to focus even more on helping them get to church because in Denmark its very hard to get people to church. But were working on it! 

All is well here in Denmark! 

Its a little cold, but its worth it! Its a solid 0 degrees Celsius here but with wind chill its abou -1 or so so its about like 25 ish degrees probably. still not as cold as it could be, but its still way cold lol. 

Ive also resigned myself to the fact that most people think I'm swedish, literally everyone asks me if I'm Swedish. I cant tell if its my attempt at a danish accent, or if its just my american accent, or an american mixed with a danish and russian accent ahah. Either way I get a little frustrated because I really want to sound danish... I'll keep working at it!

Week 31

Jan 30th 2017

Hey all! 
This week has been wonderful! Its been cold and rainy in Denmark again! I cant wait for spring and summer in June when it gets here! We had a hard working week, but it was really great! A highlight was when we were on the gå gade(a walking street), and we stoped a man and his wife and at first they started walking away because they didn't want to talk, but then the man stopped and was like okay what is your question? so we asked about families and we said we came from our church, and he goes "hey I have family in Salt lake and I love it over there!" Then he proceeded to tell us all about it and the mormons they knew, and we got to know them as well . They had gotten married 2 years earlier, and they were so great. We talked for about 15 minutes on the street, then they were like its cold out here lets go in here and we will buy you both hot cocoa since we know you don't drink or anything! So they took us into this really nice restaurant we were right by, that they loved, and we sat down and drank hot cocoa and talked about religion, mormonism, good sites to see in denamrk and all these things. it was so wonderful and hyggeligt! so cool! 

We also had an adventure going to a dinner appointment when my companion got a flat tire again, the family picked us up on their way by, so nice . We had an appointment after So we left dinner a little late and the members house is about an hour and 15 minute walk , so my companion and iI start jogging until we get to our bikes, then we get there, then one of us would ride my bike and take a break while the other one of us was running with the flat tire bike so we could get to our appointment as close to time as possible.  We only had 35 minutes to get there, and we ran the whole hour and 15 minutes in 50 minutes.. ANd we were only 10 minutes late to our appointment, then the guy didnt even show ! It was very dramatic , we tried our very best ! We continue to do the Lords work regardless. 

I've thought a lot about obedience this week, and how when we are trying our best to be obedient to Gods will and his divine guidance, "all will be well" . I've also learned that just because "all will be well " doesnt mean that all will be easy. 
I hope you all strive to continue to be the best you can be. God doesn't expect us to be perfect in obedience because we are a fallen imperfect people, but he does expect us to be perfect in repentance.. Strive our best to follow Gods law, and love others as we do so!

Week 30

1/23/17

Hey all! This week was wonderful! We have been so blessed ! We had so may appointmetns and crazy lives, Its been wonderful! First off, I'm staying in Odense with my companion Sister Whitlock another transfer! We've been here 2 already together, and we were astonished that we are still together but we are way excited and pumped! Life is wonderful in Denmark as well! 

We gave a church tour to a family we love so much! They have 2 little Kids, and I know they have been prepared for the gospel message! We are just so blessed and grateful for all that has been going on here in Denmark! 

I was asked to give a talk in church, on Gods love, and it was in Danish!!! It was way scary, and I'll  admit I wrote everything down because I was afraid I would forget everything! Danish itself is hard and I wanted my danish to at least be decent when I talked in front of all of the Local people! It was way terrifying but it worked out! We have had so many good adventures, i just can't name them all. But i  hope you all had a wonderful week!

Since i talked about Gods love, I've been thinking a lot about how it means ,that we know God loves us. A lot of the people here in Denmark and the world believe  that God is silent. They don't know he listens to their every need and care, and wishes the best for them. I would encourage you all to think about God and his love for you personally, but also for all of those around you as well. I know he will help you and strengthen you as well!

Week 29

Jan 16, 2017


Hey all! 
This week was just wonderful!  We did a Nougat Bit Challenge, which is a type fo cereal they have here in Denmark, which is really chocolatey, and its a missionary thing.. What missionaries do, is they buy a box of the cereal, then you buy this really thick milk stuff, and you have 1 hour to finish the liter of milk and the whole box of cereal... its disgusting but so funny! I myself just ate until I was full, but there was an elder who finished it in 13 mintues, and another elder who finished it in 45minutes... it was quite interesting... If you count all my added time actually eating noughat bits, I finished the nougat bit challenge in 5 days lol. 

My companion and I decided to do a walking week this week, and we knew God would bless us with people to come across our path if we spent the time contacting instead of biking the places we needed to go. We met so many amazing and positive people! One guy who we had talked to, he didn't seem very positive at all, but we invited him to church, and on Sunday, he showed up! It was insane he was so interested about it and all! We also met several other people who were way interested! it was a wonderful week! 

We also stopped by a family that my companion and I knocked their house when I first got here about 2 months ago, and we stopped by their house yesterday, and they were like hey were just got home come in and have dinner with us!
The last time we had seen them was when we had caroled to them, and given them a wrapped Book of Mormon.. We came in, and they talked about how they had tried reading it, and they were confused but it was a really good story and all! It was so cool! We tried explaining, but before we could answer the husbands questions, he wold ask another question! It was so hard! But he was like Iwould love to have a church tour sometime so we set a date to do that, and we also decided we would come again and be able to finish explaining what the Book of Mormon is and how it can help us and all. They are the most wonderful family! Transfers are on Monday, We find out on Friday if my companion or I gets transferred from Odense.. We are hoping not, but we are pretty sure one of us is.. :( anwyhoo, I hope you all keep an eye out for all the small miracles in your lives! God is on your side!

Week 28

Jan 9th 2017

Kære familie og venner( Dear Family and Friends),

 I hope you all have had a wonderful week! Denmark is still beautiful and full of amazing opportunities, despite it being quite cold outside... We had a lot of excitement throughout the week! To start off, we went out somewhere in our area which is aout 50 minutes on a bike to it. We knocked there and had several really good people who we talked with adn they said we could come back on Tuesday and teach them more! We are so excited! As we went to leave, my companion found out she had gotten a flat tire, so we had to walk back to our apartment. We started walking, and then my back bike tire seized up and I couldn't pedal it, so we walked for 2 hours and 15 minutes back to our apartment and all I could do was drag my bike with a frozen tire. It was an adventure! we fixed my companions tire, and then the next morning the Elders Came over to try and fix my bike, but it was unstuck. SO we went to an appointment we had, and as we got back on our bikes, my tire locked up again. SO the elders helped me take the tire off, then they took the tire home because one elder loves working on cars and he knew he could fix it. They called later that night, and we found out I needed to buy some Wheel bearings because they were destroyed in my bike tire. SO I bought those, and the wonderful elders helped me again because I don't know anything about bikes haa. So now my bike runs quite wonderfully! 

We also had so many miracles this week! We met a guy named Kåre, and he does music therapy for people when they need help for children, and we talked about the Plan of Salvation and he loved it so much so we made an appointment with him, and we go teach him this week! it was so amazing! We also met a guy named Nick on a street, and when we first tried talking to him he said yeah you can talk to me but can we do it in english? and he was like I don't speak danish I'm from America! And we were like no way! We were like, we are too! And his eyes lit up and he goes are you mormons? and we said yes we are! Turns out he speaks norwegian because he studied there for a while, and he met missionaries there a few months ago. He said he knew we were mormons because we could speak the language fluently, but we were americans aha. I forgot just how friendly americans were, until I talked to one again.. Oh my goodness he was cool . We invited him to play soccer with us because he said he loved soccer, so hopefully he will come! 

Something funny, is yesterday when we were talking to a guy, he was a little high, and so he was like I loved talking to you both, thank you so much! So he goes to hug us both at the same time, and me and my compnaion are like ahhh noooo!! but he grabs us and does an awkard 3 person hug.. me and my companion both tried getting away but he was way too crafty and gave us a hug... It was way funny though,  afterward,   since we had tried so hard to run away and he still managed to give us a hug. We gave him a pamphlet though before we left haha. I've decided Danish people are very huggy people... Which is funny ahha. 

Last funny thing, is my companion was trying to write down where we had knocked, and she licks her gloves on accident because she couldnt turn a page, and then all she says , " i just licked my handske(glove), that's not how this is supposed to work..." it was way funny hahaha. 

Ive been thinking a lot about Light the past few days. There was a talk by President Uchtdorf, and he talked about how we sometimes are in darkness and its hard to find a way out.. But we can choose whether or not we reside in the darkness, or decide to walk into the light, even though darkness surrounds us. We should constantly be aware of not residing in the dark, but residing in the light, even if we are surrounded by darkness. Light is a wonderful thing we can give to others if we just continue to be ourselves, and become more like God. All is well, when we put our trust in him.
