Week 74

11-27-17
MY Last Week HAS COME!

We had a great thanksgiving, we had a wonderful lesson where our investigator didn’t show, then he showed up right as we were walking out and he didn’t know we had an appointment but  had been there to look for his keys and then we met with him anyways. we also have had fun packing our apartment up ahha. As of Today, I have been in Denmark 474 days, and i have been on my mission 515 days. its so weird how I feel like i just got here still.

Well, after a year and a half in a foreign land speaking a different language, I never thought that I would come to this point where i would have to leave a land that i love. But, i am so grateful for the time that I have had here. I’ve loved the people, the culture, the language, and getting to speak to people about the reality that Jesus Christ lives and loves them and has an eternal plan where they can return back to live with him again. I’ve loved, getting to share my own experiences and share that no matter where you are in life, you can turn to God, and he will help you.
Never before had I felt the truth and reality of a loving Heavenly Father, and i wish that i could spend another 1 1/2 years speaking about the light and strength the gospel of Jesus Christ gives me. I would encourage all of you, whether you are a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints or not, to find the strength that comes from it, and find the light that it brings. it wont just come to you suddenly, we are asked to work for it and try it. If all we do is hope its real, and TRY to live it the way God asks us to, then we will know the power in his true church. I know that church to be this church and Im so grateful for the love God has shown me as I've made mistakes, and as i try every day to be a little bit more like my Savior Jesus Christ.

I love my mission, and I hope  i will be able to always keep being the person i know God expects and wants me to be,  as his child here on earth.

i look forward to seeing all of you, and I hope that you will take my challenge, to really try and get to know your Savior a little bit better this week. I will be doing the same. Keep being amazing, and have a  great week!

Week 73

11-20-17

General
hey all! WOw my second to last general email! Crazy! I feel like i still have a lifetime left on the mission not a week left ahha. Unfortunately, missions fly by...

but to talk about the amazing things that have happened this week, is one, We got our trainee and her name is Sister Hansen!!!! haha (i already had a sister hansen as a companion!) She is from Bountiful Utah and she is 5´10" haha. super awesome missionary! We also found out at the same time when we found out she was going to be our trainnee, that when i go home in a week, sister smith and hansen will be driving over to Viborg which is in jylland and they will be opening that area up! there havent been sisters over there in over 3 years! Crazy right?! . So we also have to pack our apartment up a little bit ahha. yay haha. we have an eating appointment every single day of the week this week too except one day.

on monday this past week, i got to send off the old missionaries home and it was the saddest thing to stand in the airport as they all flew home, but it was awesome too! then we got to pick up the new missionaries as well and that was way fun! then on wednesday, we picked up our trainee and found out it was sister hansen, and did lots of random things haha. her luggage got lost on the way here, so we had to wait for a few hours in the offfice until we could get it but then it went to our apartmetn instead aha. on thursday, we taught a way awesome lesson with our investigator john piil, and it was so great! He said he wanted to come to church, we taught about prayer and it went so well!!. Then we taught alex and also talked about prayer and it went great as well! then the following day, we had district meeting and that was good, then we ran home and drove to Køge to meet with Emenike, and it was also a wayyyy good lesson! Talk about greenie fire! The spirit was so strong in all the lessons we had and I definitely saw Gods hand working in the work we were doing.

Saturday we had sport, me and sister smith had to sit on the side since neither of us can play, and then afterward we did some service for Donna and we got horse poop all over our clothes and gloves, but an upside was that we got to pet and hang out with some cows, and we saw 2 baby cows that were born not even a week ago so that was way cute! haha

on sunday, i had to translate in sacrament for an investigator of the roskilde sisters who doesnt speak danish, and  i bore my testimony since next week is the primary program.. we taught gæste klasse for the second hour... something i forgot to mention was that an investigator i taught( when he was one.. now hes baptized) Thorbjørn surprised me and came to my last testimony! So he was at chuch all day and it was the coolest thing ever! So much fun getting to see an old friend again whom i got way close to! It was a stellar week and i hope this following week will be just as uplifting and amazing :)

i hope you all have an amazing week, and keep doing the right things! Love you all!!! :)

Week 72

11-13-17
General Letter

Hey all! this week has been great!

We had an aftale(appointment) with our investigator that we met on the street 3 weeks ago, and it went pretty good, but he has the hardest danish,  I've ever heard, to understand... but we had a good lesson anyways haha.
On wednesday we had to do sister Smiths biometrics so she can stay in the country and get her visa, and its an hour drive way.   On our way there , we saw a guy get out of his car who has been in the city elections, who is less active, so I waved , the awkward thing was, is that sister Smith was laying on her stomach in the back seat and you couldn't see her at all because of her incision thing, so he just saw me waving at him and we realized that he probably was way confused as to why I was driving in a car alone haha. Of course I wasn't,  we were just a little sneaky ahha.

The day after, I got to go to the my plan meeting in Copenhagen, and it was great! The temple was  super wonderful!
Later that night we ate with a family, and they thought sister Whitlock had farted at dinner, when she actually accidentally burped . It was awkward , she didnt realize until I mentioned it in the car.. super awkward and a bit funny lol.

Saturday, we stopped by an investigator and helped her take her baby and dog on a walk, and it was great to see her. She’s coming along in her conversion .

We had an eating appointment with a family and they have 2 young boys, so we had made the “amour of God” out of cardboard for the 2 boys to help them in the spiritual thought. The parents were amazed that the boys were quiet and happy and had so much fun, and that they participated. They’ve  never gotten to participate because they were too rowdy and all that. but we had a great spiritual thought and the family was like” wow when can you come back?! and wow that was wonderful thank you so much sisters! “ That was the best spiritual thought we have EVER had! it was so cool! I’ll send a picture .
me and my comp , sister Smith were happy and excited we got to make the spiritual a thought.  The family asked us if we had done it before and practiced, and we were like uhh no actually its just been you we made these things today ahha. super cool experience! I love when scripture the come to life.

We got transfer calls, sister smith and I are staying together in Holbæk, and we are getting a trainnee! So i’ll get to train for 2 weeks again! thats way exciting right?! haha super fun!

Tuesday, I got to be a part of the “departing missionaries” today and yesterday for their last meeting with, president this morning and got to send them home from the airport and welcome the new missionaries, it was super cool! It was  sad to send off several of my really good friends and people I've come to care a lot about! But I was cool to say hello to the incoming missionaries as well! it was so fun! :) anwyhoo, that was my week, i hope you all have a fantastic week!

Week 71

11/6/17

hey all! this week was interesting and fun!

First we had splits with the sister training leaders i was with Sister Courtney Jones ( yay!) and it was way fun like always! I love going back to my “baby” ( The place where I first started)  area. I got the opportunity to teach someone who we had found, and he was baptized about a year ago.. so that was exciting! He was doing great! Me and Sister Jones went knocking on Halloween and some woman gave us some candy it was way fun :)

Then later in the week we had a zone conference with Elder Sabin and it went way well! I was reminded and taught some many things, and i wish i could tell them all to you, buuuuuttt I forgot my notebook so i hope it suffices to say it was way great, and i loved getting to hear him testify of Christ :)

Friday, I took my companion to the doctor because she had a cyst... she got it removed at the hospital... I sat in the chair from 2 pm to 11:45 then I laid on the floor for a few minutes to stretch my body out I hadn't eaten any dinner but I was actually doing pretty good surprisingly. Then a woman nurse came in at like 11 :55 and told me I couldn't stay and I had to go home.  I couldn't sleep and stay... which was a little frustrating because i had asked like 3 or 4 different nurses and doctors if that was allowed for me to stay with my friend for the night and they all said yes... sooo I got kicked out of the hospital at 12 midnight, and the only place for me to go was my apartment a 5 minute drive away( all the other missionaries are too far away and it was 12 at night they all live the closest of 40 minutes in a car away)..:. So I drove home, slept in my bed in my apartment alone( gosh it was so scary alone not having another person to be there with . Don't worry I got permission) and then I got up in the early morning, and drove back down, once I knew the hospital was open again for visitors..  we were there, and we've been inside recuperating ever since haha. Except right now we are emailing lol... it was an eventful week for sure :) ahha.  yeah it was still a good week. Poor sister Smith has had to let me give her shots every night the past few day, and I have like 3 more nights to go.. I'm no shot giver ( I've never had to give someone one before) but like she doesn't want to give herself a shot(understandable i don’t  think I could) so I've been doing that too.... it’s amazing the skills you learn as a missionary on the mission... haha. fun lol...
anwyhoo, I hope you all have a-great week, I’ts been a wonderful one here in Denmark, full of lots of blessings! We are so excited to be in Holbæk, and we can’t believe it’s already week 6 of the transfer... where has time gone??

love you all have a great week!

Week 70

10/30/17
Hello all!
Well, it’s basically November, but first Happy Halloween! Now happy November!
Life here is good in Holbæk, and in Denmark! I don't think I’ll  ever get over how beautiful and awesome Denmark is :) every day is a brand new page of life and exciting things ahah.

We had a couple cool miracles this week,. On Wednesday, We had an open day so we went out a little farther than normal , and we talked to a lot of people who said we could come back . One day we picked a street and then went to knock on each door , we were not having much success but decided to knock on one more the one right across has a guy putting posters together of himself for city elections up and we walk up and introduce ourselves , where we are from and what we were doing. We talk about the book of Mormon and he was like oh I've read that book before.  He said, “I won it “we were like really how? Turns out he’s a returned missionary that had stopped going to church a while back.  We talked with him about his mission and his great experiences, he gave us soda, it was such a nice visit! He told us he knows the church is true and my best time of my life was on my mission here.  We parted ways ending on a good note, reminding him of the beautiful gospel of Jesus Christ waiting for him.  3 doors down, we meet another fellow and introduce ourselves, guy says, “yeah i know who you are, I’ve served a mission. We we’re like no way! We just talked to a guy down there that also was a member! He says yeah that’s my older brother!!
We invited him back to church and it was cool ahah. We were definitely where we are supposed to be ,  for sure!
Later that evening, we get a
Text from an earlier investigator who said, “I was busy and had things in my way before with baptism, but now I'm ready .I want to be baptized in December will you sisters help me? “so we were way excited!

God leads us to more positive people ready for the gospel :)

This week, an investigator at church introduced himself and asked me, “where do you come from you have a tiny little accent are you from Sweden? “and I was like nah I'm American!  Made me feel good that I don't sounds completely American though ahah.
Weeks full of miracles, and happiness.
It got wayyy cold this week, my goal was to make it to october 31st without wearing tights like a I did last year, and I made it!  A random lame achievement, still proud of myself haha.

I hope you all can keep doing wonderful things, and keep serving God with your might mind and strength! I'm cheering you all on from Denmark, and you all are in my prayers daily! :)

4 weeks left to go, but I’m not counting!

Week 69

10/ 23/17

Well hello all!
This week was crazy! We did tons of things .
I got accepted to BYU! so that’s where I’ll be attending in January :) I'm so excited!

This week we helped a family in the ward prepare food for our potluck , pumpkin and potato soups , i’ve never made either ,  so that was fun! They bought us pizza later , super sweet.
We’ve  had a lot of time to go contacting people on the street and knocking on doors to share with them the wonderful message of how Christ still lives! How God has a plan for us to return back to him again, and how we can have an eternal family and be happy forever! It’s always fun talking to new people.

We got to help a less active  member  on her farm, and it was actually way fun! We had a good time serving and laughing.
Later we went on “blitz splits” in our area with lots of other missionaries! We had 12 of us total,  we knocked for 2 hours in different areas to find people who were interested in learning more about Christ . It was fun and hyggeligt! I was with Sister Andrizzi who is in training with sister Whitlock ( my old companion They usually serve in Roskilde so it was fun to work with her :)

The following day we had a fun  playing games with our group of missionaries at a district activity , we got to relax and celebrate 2 birthdays . We got to dress in jeans and stuff, it was so weird .  After  I had changed, 2 of the sisters said  “You look like you're ready for a date”  uhhh no i look how i normally would have dressed, i am NOT ready for dates ahha. Is was awkward and funny.

Saturday we had soccer,  I joyfully supported from the side lines again boooo . Since I hurt my knee playing soccer in the first place, o will continue to sit out until it’s healed.  I'm always sad I can’t play... it takes everying in me not to jump up and say "I'm playing anyways!"

Sunday was excellent as well! we had a wonderful time learning and feeling the spirit in church. Always an uplift for the coming week.

Life is going good! Someone kindly reminded me this week that i have about 5 weeks left.. I'm try not to think about it, keep working strong until the end!  Of course its exciting,
I was joking to someone here, about their "monoploly" money and they thought it was hilarious.  At first they thought  I was serious, of course I was kidding ahha.

I'm still loving every moment here in Denmark!

I've thought about  how we need to have a little more self confidence in ourselves. It’s  something I've struggled with before, but I've thought a lot about it and  how we know God has a plan for us , and we know HE trusts us, but do we trust him, and trust oursleves enough to really know he will keep good on his promises? We should ALWAYS be trusting and having confidence in ourselves, because God is on our side!
anwyhooo, i hope you all have an amazing week! keep being awesome!

Week 68

10/16/17

10/16/17

Hey all!
I hope your week was good! Me and Sister Smith had a great week!
We finally got in contact with an investigator who's been on vacation, and we FINALLy set up an appointment with him so that was a blesssing and a miracle! We also went looking for people to teach, our area has been struggling .
We found quite a few potentials , I’m excited about that! We've been working hoping for a surge to happen and it feels like its coming :)  we are working on that!
This week, always a good week!  Yesterday there was a special conference broadcasting  in Europe.
Of course we went !!  Elder Ballard was in germany , It was so good! He talked about  as member of the church, we need to believe in miracles , they ARE possible!  Miracles, often start on our knees to our Heavenly Father. We ask, and we receive, but its by our faith that these miracles are seen by us. Often we must go through the trial of faith first. So keep the miracles going! Be Believing !
The missionaries wherever you are, need your help to making miracles happen. Doors get opened, we can’t do it alone, we need YOU , regular members,  to help with the work so we can see more mighty miracles. Prophets have testified of this.
My invitation to you this week. believe  in and work those miracles! have a great week! .)
Love you all
